New Project Support from TÜBİTAK ARDEB 1002

29 March 2022

It is our distinct pleasure to announce that the project coordinated by Asst. Prof Ekin Ömeroğlu from the Faculty of Law “Developing a Web-Based Interactive Tool to Determine the Law to be Applied to Cryptocurrency Trading Transactions in International Private Law” has been funded by TUBITAK 1002 Program.

In Turkish Law, there is no conflict of laws rule to determine the law to be applied to the trading of cryptocurrencies, and the number of academic studies on this subject is almost non-existent. In this study, how this gap in Turkish law will be filled, and the question of how the legal nature of cryptocurrencies will be qualified and which law will be applied to crypto money trading transactions will be investigated.

We congratulate our faculty member and wish her success. We also would like to thank Asst. Prof. Alara Efsun Yazıcıoğlu, Asst. Prof. Argun Karamanlıoğlu and Prof. Dr. Hasan Dağ for their valuable contributions during the panel.
